Family Mediation
Parent Coordination

At Magnolia Wellness, we believe in the power of mediation to transform conflicts into opportunities for growth and healing within families. We are dedicated to guiding families through the mediation process with compassion, professionalism, and respect.

Why is mediation better for families?

Preserves Relationships: Mediation focuses on open communication and understanding, allowing family members to express their needs and concerns in a safe environment. By promoting respectful dialogue, mediation helps preserve important relationships that may otherwise be strained by adversarial court battles.

You're in Control: In mediation, families have more control over the outcome of their disputes. Rather than having decisions imposed upon them by a judge, mediation empowers families to craft mutually beneficial solutions that meet their unique needs and circumstances.

Cost-Effective: Litigation can be financially draining, with hefty legal fees and court costs. Mediation typically costs less than traditional litigation, making it a more accessible option for families seeking resolution without breaking the bank. At Magnolia Wellness, the cost of mediation sessions are $200 an hour which can be split between both parties.

Faster Resolution: Court proceedings can drag on for months or even years, prolonging the stress and uncertainty for everyone involved. Mediation offers a faster and more efficient alternative, allowing families to reach resolution in a timelier manner and move forward with their lives.

Child-Centered Approach: When children are involved, mediation prioritizes their well-being and best interests above all else. By fostering cooperation between parents, mediation helps minimize the negative impact of conflict on children and promotes healthy co-parenting relationships.

Confidentiality: Unlike court proceedings, which are a matter of public record, mediation is confidential. This means that sensitive family matters can be discussed in a private and discreet setting, maintaining the privacy and dignity of all parties involved.

How are family mediation and parent coordination different?

Family mediation and parent coordination are both methods used to

resolve conflicts within families.

Family mediation aims to help parents reach agreements on various issues related to their separation or divorce, such as custody, visitation schedules, child support, and division of assets, among others. The mediator facilitates discussions between the parties to help them identify and address their concerns and reach mutually acceptable solutions. Participation in family mediation is typically voluntary, and decisions are made by the parties themselves rather than imposed by a third party. Agreements reached through mediation can be formalized into legally binding documents.

Parent coordination is a court-ordered and ongoing process designed to assist parents in implementing parenting plans and resolving disputes that may arise over time. Our mediators work with the parents to implement and adjust the parenting plan, resolve disputes, and improve communication. Unlike mediation, where decisions are made by the parties, a parent coordinator may have the authority to make binding decisions or recommendations to the court if the parents cannot reach an agreement.

Both processes aim to minimize conflict and promote the best interests of the children involved.
